Relief
When the night comes early
And morning's far away,
Then we can turn to Jesus
And get a glimpse of day.
When our hopes seem buried,
And joy is hard to find,
Then we can turn to Jesus
Who will give us peace of mind.
When sorrow seems so final,
And our laugh is buried deep,
Then we can turn to Jesus
For a joy that we can keep.
For once night did come early,
Jesus' cross was on a hill,
And wicked men felt triumph,
The our Savior they did kill.
Those who loved Him felt their hope
Was buried in the tomb,
And they wondered if they'd live
Through the terror and the gloom.
But the Lord's work was not finished,
The night, it soon did flee,
As Jesus rose up from the dead
For all mankind -- for me.
He took our grief and sorrows.
He took our fear and pain.
He took away the sting of death.
We all will live again.
And in our greatest trouble
And our times of greatest grief,
The Savior reaches out His hand
And sends to us relief.
