Hola My Friend

Photo by Ty Downs on Unsplash

Hola my friend, let's take a trip to Mexico together,
And we will sit upon the sand and enjoy the sunny weather.
I'll buy a sombrero so I can fit in,
And you can eat fish while I go for a swim.
Then we'll sit side by side at the sea.
What a happy day that will be.

Hola my friend, while in Mexico we will have a fun fiesta.
We will dance around my sombrero and then take a siesta.
We'll dance and we'll sing and we'll have lots of fun,
Then you can eat fish while I go for a run.
Then we'll sit side by side at the sea.
What a happy day that will be.

Hola my friend, let's meet new people and eat Mexican food.
And they will hug us and ask us to stay and enjoy the happy mood.
Our new friends will smile as we speak espanol,
And you can eat fish, while I go take a stroll.
Then we'll sit side by side at the sea.
You, all our new friends, and me.

Adios my friend, we've had such fun in Mexico together,
With dancing and singing with our new amigos in the sunny weather.
We'll take my sombrero, and some shells just for me,
And you can eat fish while I climb up a tree.
We will one day come back to the sea.
What a happy day that will be.

You Deserve A Chocolate

***I wrote this poem for a good friend who I  would try to help -- but who always ended up helping me more!

Brigham and what I think was
chocolate:-)

You deserve a chocolate
Because you left your bed
To help your children find their shoes
And to make sure all were fed.

You deserve a chocolate
For smiling through your pain
And patiently explaining something
Again, and again, and again.

You deserve a chocolate
Because you tried to clean
When you'd rather have some cake
And maybe some ice cream.

You deserve a chocolate
Because you have a gift
Of listening to others
And giving them a lift.

You deserve a chocolate
For being a faithful friend
Who loves and cares for others
And helps their hearts to mend.

You deserve a chocolate
Because you are a mom
And this is one of those jobs
That goes all day and all night long.

You deserve a chocolate
For being a faithful wife
Who works to make a marriage
That can last for more than life.

You deserve a chocolate
For just being you.
You are wonderful for the good you say
And the good things that you do.

Angels are Smiling

 Angels are Smiling

Sometimes I think that you fly like an angel,
Showing up just when I've needed a friend
Sharing your love and your great gift of kindness
Helping my day have a happier end.

Some days have sunshine, children, and good times
Joy multiplies with a friend there to share
Laughter, and warmth, and the peace of a person
That I know as someone who really does care.

Storms come with dark clouds and lost expectations,
Pain that can burrow down into your heart.
Sorrow that pulls the tears from inside you,
A heavy load lifted when a friend carries part.

Then there are days that seem to last forever
Or days that fly past at a great speed of light
Days where the ups and the downs come together
With the help of my friend, these days turn out right.

Chorus:
Angels are smiling, for you, my friend.
They will stand by you each day till the end.
They'll hold you up if your knees start to falter,
For in you they see our Savior's good friend.

(Written for one of my angel friends)
