My Savior

This was taken at the home show on June 7, 2024 at the end of
my radiation treatments.

My Savior comforts me when I'm afraid.
And though it seems sometimes that He is very far away
I trust that He is close, holding me up day by day.

And when the storm beats down, He's not asleep.
He holds His hand outstretched to me when the path is steep.
And keeps His watch as giant waves come crashing from the deep.

And when I feel so sad and all alone
I think of His great love and all He did so I could come home.
I know that He's with me no matter how far I may roam.

I feel His peace around me when I'm still,
And ask for strength and courage to trust Him and do His will.
He helps me to hold on through any sorrow that I feel.

And when I fail again He won't condemn.
He'll pick me up and help me so that I can start again.
My Savior knows my sorrow and the guilt or pain I'm in.

So when I do not know which way to go
I take a step toward Him and His light makes my path glow.
I know there's hope because there is no path that He won't know.

My Savior comforts me when I'm afraid
And I give thanks to Him while on this world that He has made
And trust in Him to guide me through the path that He has laid.

I thank Him for the beauty all around
The wonder and the happiness in every joyful sound.
I thank Him for the good and lovely things that here abound.

But most of all I thank Him for His love
For wanting me despite my faults to live with Him above
In His kingdom filled with joy, happiness and love.

Christmas Joy

 Christmas Joy

The new star shone up in the sky
And a gentle breeze was blowing by
As shepherds left their flocks at night
And went to see a holy sight
A mother with her baby small
A mighty king, on Earth for all.
Our Savior, then an infant son,
The Prince of Peace, The Holy One

And in the night the angels sang
Their praises to His holy name
They sang with gratitude and joy
For the birth of this important boy
Who'd stand against evil and sin
And this hard battle He would win!
He'd conquer Satan and death too.
He'd do it all for me, and you.

So as you look in the Christmas sky
Imagine an angel flying by
Singing with joy in the quiet night
As a new star shines its heavenly light.
Imagine the shepherds running past
In search of a Savior, come at last.
And let your own heart fill with joy
For the hope that was brought by a tiny boy.

Imagine Christmas

 Imagine Christmas

I like to imagine where I was that night
When the new star came that shone so bright.
Could I see the shepherds when the angel said
They'd find Jesus in a manger bed?
Did I raise my voice with those who sang with great delight,
And praise Him with my voice and heart all throughout the night?
Did I follow shepherds to where the baby lay,
And kneel with those who worshiped Him that day?
Did I cry for those who could not see His grace?
Did tears stream down my cheeks as I gazed upon His face?
Did I weep for the sins I knew He'd bear for me?
Did I pray that while on earth I'd have eyes to see,
The beauty of the gift that was born on Christmas day,
The beauty of our Savior come to show us all the way?
Did I thank the Father for giving us His Son;
For loving us so dearly that He sent the Perfect One?
Christ bears all our sorrows, our pain and grief and sin,
And I like to imagine what I did back then,
On the Christmas morning, when joy came to the Earth
And multitudes of angels sang hosanna at His birth.

Rejoice!

Rejoice!

Rejoice! The time is near
When we honor the birth of One most dear.
Rejoice! He came to be
The Savior of all, even you and me.

Rejoice!  Hold up your head!
The Son of God came to a manger bed.
Rejoice! For He is true!
He atoned for the sins of me and you.

Rejoice! For He still lives!
Forgiveness and help are the things He gives.
Rejoice!  His love is sure.
With His love in our hearts we can endure.

He takes despair and gives us peace,
From sins tight chains He gives release,
He gives us every joyful thing.
Rejoice!  Rejoice!  He is our King!

The Shepherd's Story

The Shepherd's Story

There were shepherds sitting through the night
Watching their sheep in the soft starlight,
When all of a sudden the dark turned bright,
And the poor, humble shepherds quaked with fright.
They fell, with their faces to the ground,
Until they heard a joyful sound.
"Fear not!" said the angel in the midst of light,
As his voice rang out in the quiet night.
"For unto you is born this day"
In a little city not far away,
A Savior, born as a tiny babe,
Creator of all.  Mighty to save.
He is laid in a manger filled with hay,
And we all have cause to rejoice today!
And the shepherds, strong men, and faithful all,
Felt joyful tears at the angel's call.
And suddenly a host of angels sang,
And the joy of the night through the meadows rang.
Then slowly the light began to dim,
As the angels went away from them,
And the shepherds were left in the soft starlight,
To ponder the message given them that night.
But they did not stop to ponder long.
They gathered supplies, and soon were gone.
Joyfully following the Christmas star
To Bethlehem, which was no too far.
And there with reverence and quiet awe
They knelt, and the Savior of all they saw.
And joyful tears escaped again,
As they prayed in thanks, and worshiped Him.
And as morning light began to come,
The shepherds went to tell everyone.

Tiny One

Tiny One

A tiny baby in a giant world.
A God, recognized by few.
Creator of the very world
He then came and was born into.

The heavens knew, a star was born
Angels rejoiced and sang their joy
Shepherds awakened before the morn,
Left right away to find the boy.

What hope came with this tiny one.
False hopes to those who didn't know
He would atone for the wrongs they'd done
Not save them from a Roman's blow.

He grew, one man in a giant world;
Creator, brother, Savior too,
As many went throughout their days
Not knowing the great work He would do.

He saves from sin, and death, and pain
From sorrow, and despair, and pride.
He leads us all back home again,
If we choose to stay by His side.
