Shepherds' Field

Shepherds' Field

On a quiet, peaceful, star filled night
Angels came into the shepherds' field
When a brand new star was shining bright
And unto the shepherds some news revealed.

The angels, coming to the shepherds' view
Kindly bid them not to be afraid.
For there was joy in the thing they knew
They had come to share where a baby laid.

All babies are precious, but this one more,
For He was the hope of all on Earth,
All that were there and those before,
And those who had not yet had their birth.

The shepherds heard the angels sing
With joy, and awe, and reverence sweet.
And they felt the joy this babe would bring
And they went to kneel at the baby's feet.

And after seeing the baby there
And worshiping Him there where He lay
They went out into the night to share
The marvelous things they had learned that day.

On a quiet, peaceful, star filled night
Angels came into the shepherds' field
When a brand new star was shining bright
And unto them glad news revealed.
